Mashable, Shoppers Expected to Spend More Across More Channels During Holidays [STUDY] by Lauren Indvik (@laureni)
As the holiday season quickly approaches, retailers are ramping up their efforts to land sales across all channels. Google’s retail team refers to this holiday shopping season as “Nonline,” supporting the fact that customers and retailers no longer see a divide between online and offline shopping, as consumers are accompanied by their smartphones wherever they shop. Google releases data supporting this trend, stating that four in five mobile and tablet owners plan to use their devices as part of holiday shopping. The data also shows which device shoppers turn to at different stages in the buying cycle. Google’s data proves that this holiday season will be a big one, as shoppers are expected to spend more and start shopping earlier.
