The article introduces and analyzes Google’s new released research paper, “Understanding the Modern Gamer.” The conclusion of the research paper is that gamers are doing more searching than ever related to their favorite games. “Understanding the Modern Gamer” shows that the average gamer spends about 6 months planning, researching, and considering their video game purchases. Once a game is purchased, engagement continues as users spend about 4 months downloading reviews, discussing game strategies and purchasing extra game features online. This longer, more engaged research opens the door for mobile advertisers.
