This article shares new data about the state of mobile ads from ad network Mojiva. Some highlights in the data presented include: rich media dominates, the mobile web is still very much in use, the majority of mobile ad requests came from Wi-Fi connections and RIM still plays a major role in Europe. Rich media advertising is predicted to increase by 365% by the year of 2016. In addition, despite a growth in mobile apps, advertising on the mobile web has not suffered. Mojiva’s data also shows that mobile gaming, entertainment and social networks were the most popular apps in the US. Mobile shopping and m-commerce showed the fastest growth of any category.
