The Next Web, Opera sums up 2012 in mobile advertising: iOS, the US and multimedia are the market drivers by Andrii Degeler (@shlema)
Opera Software highlights insights in mobile advertising from 2012 with its new “mobile advertising” report. The report showed that iOS leads the way in ad impressions once again with 44%, from which 65% is iOS 6. Android falls far behind with 29%. Researchers from Opera also named the iPad and iPhone the most successful devices of 2012. In addition, the United States is still the clear leader in ad impressions with 65%, while Russia and Ukraine saw a rapid growth of 95% in monthly impression volumes since January, making it the fastest growing emerging market. Finally, the report also found that multimedia is on the rise as this category accounted for 15% of revenue with 23.8% of mobile ad impressions.
